ALLIANZ CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL FOOTBALL FINAL
On the 25th of October the boys from Scoil Molaise played in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol football finals in the Centre of Excellence in Fenagh.
In the final we were up against a very strong Newtown Dunleckney team who had won all of their games in the group stage.
On the night the boys from Old Leighlin got off to a slow start and found themselves 2-3 to 0-1 down at half time.
in the second half however the boys clicked into gear and ran the eventual winners very close. Goals from Tadhg and Adam ensured that Newtown Dunleckney had to dig deep to grind out a 2-6 to 2-2 win.
It was a very honest and brave performance from the boys from Scoil Molaise which is very encouraging for the future. 10 of the 15 players on the panel will be back to play again next year when they hope to go one better and win the cup!
SPOOKY HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
On Friday the 28th of October the boys and girls came to school in their spooky Halloween costumes.

Each child donated €2 to Muscular Dystrophy Ireland and spent the day playing games and watching movies. Everyone had a great time!
CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING
On the 28th of September over 40 children from Scoil Molaise went by bus to the grounds of Carlow Hurling Club for the St Laurence O'Toole Primary School Cross Country Running Event.
With a huge number of children taking part in each race (upwards of 150 in some!) Scoil Molaise were thrilled to have three runners win individual medals.
Clodagh from 4th class, Sinéad from 5th and James from 6th did incredibly well to bring medals back to Old Leighlin.
FOOTBALL TEAMS IN FULL FLOW

The boys team, captained by James, lost to Ballyconnell and Newtown Dunleckney but beat Grange, Hacketstown and Tinryland to set up a semi final against Tinryland. This was played in the village and was a very exciting game. The boys ran out winners by two points to win a place in the final against Newtown Dunleckney.

The girls, captained by Caitlin, lost to Ballyconnell, Newtown Dunleckney and Tinryland. They beat Grange and Hacketstown.
