Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Camogie Final

On Thursday the 21st of May the Old Leighlin Camogie team appeared in the Division 2 Final against our neighbours Leighlinbridge.

The first half was a fierce battle with both teams trying to get the upper hand. Leighlinbridge took the lead with a goal only for Andrea to equalise minutes later. Leighlinbridge tried hard to score again but Alex in goals made some great saves.

in the second half we took the lead when Ella Mae sent a low shot to the back of the net. Unfortunately Leighlinbridge equalised straight away and then went ahead from a pointed free.

With Old Leighlin pushing hard for a score near the end Leighlinbridge broke away and scored another goal. The final score was Leighlinbridge 3-1 Old Leighlin 2-0.

The girls were disappointed to lose but with such a young team are optimistic of going one better next year and reclaiming the cup.
